Yo Ho Ho to Christmas Club Nights!

With the festive season upon us, we are doing something a little bit different for the friday club nights on Friday 19th December, and Friday 26th December. The courts will be available from 6.00pm as normal for all of your squashing and racketballing needs, but then afterwards...

On Friday 19th December we are going to order in a Chinese buffet at a cost of £15 per head. We will order as a group on the night so just bring cash if you want to partake in these delicacies from the orient.

On Friday 26th December we will be having 'leftovers night' where you are welcome to bring a plate of anything that you have left over from your Christmas celebrations, to be presented at the bar for anyone who's peckish.

On both evenings you are still more than welcome to come along even if you don't have leftovers or want to have the chinese buffet. Food is not compulsory! It's all about being social and supporting the bar... you're presence is the most important thing!

First Team's Big Fixture!

Tuesday 2nd December - 7.15pm

Our squash first team are in action this week against Division 1 title rivals Rugby Stags. This is the big one, with both teams likely to be at full strength. That means a return to the club of previous coach Guy Pearson and his top level team of opponents.

Come along to support our team... it promises to be an absolute belter!

Note about Court Condition

A few reminders to all members please:

  • Check the quality of your racket grip – Old grips often degrade and become brittle. If pieces fall off they get ground into the floors which causes problems and costs the club money to rectify. Please change any grip that becomes brittle. We have them for sale at the bar if required.
  • If you are playing a visitor, book the court using the "Visitor" button – You will be charged the appropriate rate. The committee has found by checking through the booking system that some members have not been paying the guest fee. It's not fair on the other members and people who volunteer a great deal of their time in service of our club to have others not paying the correct fee for their court use.

Let's all pull in the same direction on these, please.

Get involved in your club!

We want to remain a volunteer-run to keep your fees low. Can you dedicate an hour a week to help us?

Our club operates on a ‘Not For Profit’ basis, with most day-to-day running undertaken by volunteers and members of our committee. This support helps in keeping membership and court fees much lower than other squash clubs, with arguably superior facilities.

From time to time we will put the word out if we require the help in a particular department, but in general terms if you would like to get involved and offer a little of your free time to progress the club please send us a message here.
