We are immensely proud to celebrate the outstanding contributions of our members at the 2025 International Racketball Teams event in Cardiff (20th-21st September 2025) — where Team England secured a clean sweep of titles across all categories.

Club member Steve Smith, who is currently ranked #1 in England in the Over 50's age group, had a target on his back but played with tremendous grit in a key role to secure victory in the Over 50s team for England following matches with Wales and Scotland. Steve had a tough opponent in JOn Davies of Wales to start with, losing 8-11, 8-11, 4-11, but then came back strongly against Todd Rutherford of Scotland, winning his match 1-11, 3-11, 5-11.

And then we have Ali Mutch, who played in the Men's team and contributed to England’s dominance with a 11-6, 11-3, 11-3 against Scotland's Craig Valente-Wallace, and a 11-5, 11-8, 11-7 victory against Peter Berkley representing Wales.

This is a proud moment for our club. The fact that two of our own were on the international stage is a tremendous honour. Their dedication, skill and sportsmanship are a testament to Hinckley’s strength in squash and racketball. We congratulate Steve and Ali—and look forward to celebrating more such successes in the years ahead.
