Jamsie is the 2025 ESF European Masters Over 45s Champion!

Our head coach, James Bowden, triumphed at the 2025 ESF European Masters Individual Championships in Wroclaw, Poland, held from 27th–30th August. Competing as the top seed in the Over 45s category, Jamsie produced a thrilling comeback in the final, overturning a two-game deficit to defeat Germany’s Heiko Schwarzer (seeded 3/4) with a dramatic scoreline of 4-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, 14-12.

Jamsie's victory should make us all extremely proud, and underlines how adding dedication and determination to your already prodigious talent drives you forward and often brings the best results.

When not taking part on the international stage, Jamsie can be seen treading the boards at out club coaching the juniors, playing for our 1st Team, and offering 1-to-1 sessions to members who would like a bit of that magic to rub off into their game. Contact him on ‭07757 771021‬ to book your session!

Play The Pro at the 90th Anniversary Exhibition Night

Saturday, September 20th

Tickets to come along to the exhibition night are selling well, and it's going to be a fantastic atmosphere on the day. We do have one small request though... we need more people to put their hats into the ring to take on one or more of these four fine athletes that will be in attendance.

We’re joined by 3x World Champion Nick Matthew (previously WR #1), PSA 2024 Hinckley Challenger runner-up Rhys Evans (highest WR #126), Lucy Turmel (highest WR #23), and local hotshot Alicia Mead (highest WR #44).

Maybe you could show them a thing or two, maybe there's that one shot in your locker that no one else can play or read... *cough* Woody BoastTM *cough*. Maybe you just fancy yourself as an absolute fitness legend and think you could tire one of them out over 20 minutes. Or maybe you'd just like to have a bit of fun and support the event a little more by spending a few extra quid and having a once in a lifetime experience. Get involved!

How To Play the Pro
Each of the four professional players will be available for just four 20-minute 'Play the Pro' slots, from approx 15:40. These are available on a silent auction basis so email your bid amount and choice of pro privately to comps@hinckleysquash.com and we'll be in touch with your time slot if you've been successful in the auction.

Neck Oil!

Hot on the heels of Amstel, we have been able to secure a supply of a drinkable session ale in Beavertown's Neck Oil. At 4.3% it's fairly light fayre and will hopefully be perfect to quench your thirst after a lung-busting session on court.

Are we catering to you?

Regarding the available beverages at the bar, it's not lost on us that we're just telling you about different beers that we are trying. But maybe there is a sizeable percentage of our membership who may have different tastes in alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshment. Is there a preference you have that we are not catering to? Drop me a line on comms@hinckleysquash.com and I'll put your suggestions forward.

Reminder of Preseason Team Night

Next Tuesday 9th September - 7.30pm

All players and captains get together. An hour's get-together to usher in the new season, introduce new players to their teams and allocate their new shirts, get photographed in team kit, and run-through our aims for the season.

Returning players are requested to bring their team shirt and racket, for photography purposes.

Non-team players are also welcome to come up to the bar and offer positive encouragement to the brave men, women and children who will be representing our good name in destinations across the county come September.

The honours are all yours

Those of you who venture upstairs to the bar area will see that we have updated the club's honours boards with this year's club closed competition winners.

Many thanks to club member, box league competitor and creative design and print specialist Martin Hosmer of MK3 Design for getting these boards updated once again this year.

Get involved in your club!

We want to remain a volunteer-run to keep your fees low. Can you dedicate an hour a week to help us?

Our club operates on a ‘Not For Profit’ basis, with most day-to-day running undertaken by volunteers and members of our committee. This support helps in keeping membership and court fees much lower than other squash clubs, with arguably superior facilities.

From time to time we will put the word out if we require the help in a particular department, but in general terms if you would like to get involved and offer a little of your free time to progress the club please send us a message here.
