HSRC Club Competitions 2026 - Act Fast!

Our annual chance to get your name etched into the club honours boards

We are a bit behind schedule this year so I'll keep it brief. You can enter as many competition formats as you like. As per previous years those looking to enter the knockout squash main event will be guaranteed three games in a group format before the knockout matches take place. You'll get to play new people!

Don't delay, book on before 22nd May!

This year's competitions are as follows:

🥇 Club Knockout: Test your mettle in a thrilling group stage and elimination format. Group winners go through to the knockout phase. Second placed in each group will go through into the knockout for the Plate.

🏅 Handicap: Where we try and level the playing field so everyone gets an equal chance of victory.

🎾 Doubles Squash & Racketball: Team up with a partner and unleash your combined power on the court. It's all about coordination, synergy, and lets!

🌟 Ladies: Ladies, this is your chance to showcase your finesse and prowess. Let's see who reigns supreme on the squash court!

🚀 Racketball: Experience the excitement of never ending rallies and a distinct lack of strokes!

👴 Over 50s & 👵 Over 60s: Age ain't nothing but a number! Compete with your peers and demonstrate that your skills have matured like a fine wine.

🌟 Junior Tournament: Calling all young talents! Compete as part of Thursday and Saturday junior coaching sessions, with the final played alongside the other finals at the main event! There is no need to book up, you will be entered into your competition through the weekly coaching sessions with Jamsie.

Intercounty Racketball Team Championships 2026!

Saturday 6th / Sunday 7th June

We are thrilled to be co-hosting this inter-county championships along with Cleaver Squash Club in Nuneaton. Some of the nation's very best racketball players are congregating for their county sides to do battle and we should see some awesome games across the two days!

  • In the 'A' Grade Leicestershire's team includes our very own James Bowden, Ali Mutch and Elliot Smith.
  • In the 'B' Grade we have Andy Beel, Steve Smith and Craig Lloyd in our county team.
  • There is also a strong Women's draw, but we don't have a local player representing our club on this occasion :-(

The organisers have put the word out and have noted how strong our teams are, so you can be sure that other counties will have taken note and brought their very best players to challenge us.

You can see the full schedule and the venue for each of the matches at the link below, so with the bar open across the tournament please come along and cheers our home players on!

Tournament Details + Schedule

Enf of Season Team Night

Saturday May 23rd from 4.30pm

HSRC Club Captain Heath Jennings welcomes all team players and captains from the 2025/26 Leicestershire Leagues for a celebratory bash where the general idea is to:

  1. Enjoy some free court time from 4.30pm - all four courts are blocked out for team players.
  2. Spend what remains of your team's coffers at the bar before Mark Fraser does.
  3. Have a nice meal upstairs, and...
  4. Give Heath a brief moment to toast to our successes and hand out achievement awards to lucky recipients.

Team players are politely reminded that as an official team event, you are requested to wear your team jacket to the club. If you were new to the teams this year, consider this a few weeks notice to get along to your local charity shop and find one, ideally for less than a tenner.

Your attendance is most welcome, and the bar will be open to all members which is a rarity for a Saturday night these days.

Lost Property - Navy Jacket

At the recent PSA event at our club, somebody left behind a navy jacket in size M(10-12) upstairs by the pool table. It's a nice bit of kit.

If you think that’s yours let me (Alan) know some details about it and I’ll get it reunited with you straight away. 07986 264178.

Get involved in your club!

We want to remain a volunteer-run to keep your fees low. Can you dedicate an hour a week to help us?

Our club operates on a ‘Not For Profit’ basis, with most day-to-day running undertaken by volunteers and members of our committee. This support helps in keeping membership and court fees much lower than other squash clubs, with arguably superior facilities.

From time to time we will put the word out if we require the help in a particular department, but in general terms if you would like to get involved and offer a little of your free time to progress the club please send us a message here.
